My child’s mother was not doing a good job taking care of our daughter. She left her with her grandmother and moved to another state to work and go to school. The grandmother had a bad attitude and I was having a very hard time visiting with my daughter. I went to see Attorney Potter to sort through my options. She asked me if I would like for my daughter to live with me. I had always wished this, but never believed it could happen. Attorney Potter told me I had a good chance. She filed a custody petition, prepared for trial, and after a full day of a grueling trial, the judge awarded me custody. I couldn’t believe it. I just love waking up with my daughter every day, getting her ready for school, coming home from work to make dinner, help her with homework, relax and have fun with her. It is amazing. I am forever in Attorney Potter’s debt for the great life I have with my daughter. She is the best attorney in the world!

I was accused of hitting a child, but I didn’t do it. I went to court several times and every time Attorney Potter was there by my side. After much fear and trepidation on my part, Attorney Potter was able to convince the judge that I did not do it. She turned around at that last hearing and I saw happiness on her face as she walked toward me. I knew she had done it! Yes, Lord!

My wife and I got married early. In fact, we are still going through a divorce. The big question at the temporary hearing was who should keep the children until permanent custody could be determined. We went to the temporary hearing thoroughly prepared for a difficult fight. The hearing lasted all day and it was not clear to anyone what the judge would do. Attorney Potter put forth the Albright Factors during my testimony, she knowing that the judge was simply keeping score throughout the trial. At the conclusion of the day, the judge spoke. We were on pins and needles. I won. The judge could see by Attorney Potter’s thorough presentation of the law that I was the better parent for the children. It’s not over yet, but I am sure I have the best lawyer to take me to the finish line.

Attorney Potter got me visitation! My baby’s mama hates me and would not let me see my daughter. In fact, she tried to replace me with her boyfriend whom she is pregnant by. We went to court and fought for a reasonable visitation arrangement. I left court that Friday and that evening I received the joy of my life – seeing my daughter after nearly a year of not being able to see her face.

I was about to lose my house and I didn’t know what to do. I called Attorney Potter and she told me about a Chapter 13 bankruptcy where I could pay the trustee every month my mortgage who then paid my mortgage and my arrearage for me over a period of time. It’s not easy, but I was able to keep my house, my car and still take care of my other bills. After almost losing my house, all I felt was relief once I filed. Thank you, Attorney Potter, for showing how to get through my financial ordeal.

My baby’s father is on drugs. I knew it, but the judge did not. He had a lawyer that was determined to get him unsupervised visitation. The key was to get real evidence of his drug use which I did not have. Attorney Potter filed a motion for drug tests and for a Guardian Ad Litem for the child. She knew that a GAL could get to the bottom of the issues even when I couldn’t. She also knew that a hair follicle test would show a drug user even if he had refrained for a few months. The test was returned and it showed positive for drugs. I was not trying to keep my son from his father; I just did not trust that he would be safe with a drug user. The judge awarded him supervised visitation and I was satisfied with that. Attorney Potter helped me protect my son.
